Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits

The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits is a unifying association formed in 2004 to advance the common interests of more than 20,000 nonprofits in the Grand Canyon State. We are a statewide organization of, by, and for all of Arizona’s nonprofits.

The Alliance is an action-oriented group of partners across the state – both nonprofits and those in the community who support them – dedicated to furthering the common interests of Arizona’s nonprofits.

American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP)

Founded in 1998, the American Association of Grant Professionals "enhances the role of grant developers who work for public or private organizations." The association maintains a code of ethics, and promotes the public image of professional grant developers. It also enhances grant developers' relationships with funders and employers and advances educational opportunities. Members include "full or part-time, public or private: writers, managers, funders, evaluators, developers, planners, consultants, administrators, and any person connected with grants."

Arizona Grantmakers Forum

Membership organization for grantmakers. The mission is to strengthen philanthropy in Arizona by:
**Providing educational opportunities for members; encouraging more effective grantmaking;
**Promoting and facilitating communication among grantmakers and between grantmakers and nonprofit organizations.

Meetings: Monthly meetings open to members and invited guests.

Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) -- Southern Arizona Chapter

The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Southern Arizona Chapter, was founded in 1984. The chapter serves over 120 members and 200-plus
nonmembers. The chapter hosts a variety of educational opportunities for development professionals, including monthly meetings and a grassroots workshop held annually.

In addition, members facilitate community awareness regarding philanthropy through the "Youth in Philanthropy" course, which is offered at a local school; and National Philanthropy Day, which recognizes outstanding contributions by community members.

Meetings: Chapter meetings are held the second Friday of the month from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel at Reid Park (Tucson). Cost is $12 members, $20 non-members.

Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Northern Arizona Chapter

The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Northern Arizona Chapter, was founded in 1992 with 15 members. The chapter was created to address the unique needs of fundraising professionals in rural Arizona. Our region covers the Grand Canyon area, Flagstaff, Prescott, Kingman, Verde Valley, Navajo Reservation, and all points in between.

Meetings: Chapter meetings are held as needed, usually in combination with professional education sessions to minimize travel time for members.

Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement, Arizona Chapter (APRA-AZ)

Background:
Prompted by the increasing demand by nonprofit agencies to find new prospective funders (individuals, corporations, foundations, and others) and the tremendous growth in information technology, the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) was established in 1981. The Arizona chapter of APRA (APRA-AZ) was founded in 1993.

Today, development research and information management professionals play an integral role in increasing philanthropic support for nonprofit organizations. APRA exists, in part, to:

** Foster professional development and career growth;
** Promote standards that enhance the expertise of its members;
** Advocate a high standard of performance and ethical behavior;
** Facilitate interaction among research, development and information professionals;
** Promote the status of development research.
